Saint Sylvester I, Pope of Rome (+ 335)

Saint Sylvester guided the Church of Rome during the pivotal era of Emperor Constantine. Ordained as Bishop of Rome in 314, he oversaw the construction of magnificent churches including Saint John Lateran and Old Saint Peter’s Basilica. Though not personally attending the First Council of Nicaea, he sent representatives and endorsed its decisions. Continue reading

Eata, bishop of Hexham
