Churches Together in Shrewsbury will host an election hustings this year on Monday, June 24, from 7pm to 8.30pm. The event will feature local prospective parliamentary candidates in an evening of lively debate and conversation at Holy Trinity Church, Meole Brace, Shrewsbury.
The first half of the evening will feature two or three short interviews with local people, who will open up an area of public interest through their stories and questions. The second half will follow a more traditional “question and answer” format. As the evening ends, each candidate will give a closing statement, and refreshments will be served in the Trinity Centre for those who want to stay.
This is not a ticketed event, although the church will have to limit access should Holy Trinity Church, Meole Brace, reach over 300 people. Doors will open at 6:20 p.m. The hustings will also be livestreamed via this website: www.trinitychurches.org/hustings.
