Bishop Maximos to visit Shrewsbury on 14 April.

On Sunday, 14 April, His Grace, Bishop Maximos, will make a pastoral visit to the Church in Shrewsbury. He will preside at the Divine Liturgy for the Fourth Sunday of the Fast: St John Climacus, at St. Julian’s Church, Shrewsbury, SY1 1UH. Matins will start at 9.15 a.m., and the Divine Liturgy will start at 10.30 a.m. 

Reminder on how to access Saint Julian’s Church

Saint Julian’s Church is located at the top of Wyle Cop in Shrewsbury town centre.  Step-free access to the church is available from the northern entrance (via St Julian’s shut / St Alkmund’s square). There is a drop-off point at this location for those who cannot walk far. If you are dropping people off in St. Alkmund’s Square, use this Google map placemark: St. Alkmund’s Square for directions.

Coming by Train

The train station is 650 metres from St Julian’s Church.

The 9:21am train from Crewe via Nantwich, Wrenbury, Whitchurch, Prees, Wem and Yorton arrives at Shrewsbury at 10:14am.

The 9:22am train from Chester via Wrexham, Ruabon, Chirk and Gobowen arrives at Shrewsbury at 10:16am

The 10:01am from Leominster via Ludlow, Craven Arms and Church Stretton arrives at Shrewsbury at 10:46am.

The 9:42am from Newtown (Powys) via Welshpool arrives at Shrewsbury at 10:19am.

The 8:44am from Wolverhampton via Bilbrook, Codsall, Albrighton, Cosford, Shifnal, Telford Central, Oakengates, Wellington arrives at Shrewsbury at 9.34am.  

Travel by bus

Unfortunately, no buses currently run in Shropshire on Sundays.
