Welcome to the Greek Orthodox Church of the 318 Holy Fathers of the First Ecumenical Council. This page outlines the terms of membership as defined in our Constitution.
Eligibility for Membership
- Members must be baptized Greek Orthodox Christians.
- Members must be 18 years of age or older.
- Members must respect the Constitution of the Community.
- Members must believe and live the faith of the Greek Orthodox Church.
Obligations
- Members must make their annual dues to the Community.
- Members are requested to assist the Holy Archdiocese by making an annual Free Will Offering of £1.
Declaration of Membership
At a meeting of the Board of the Community on 16 February 2023, it was decided that people would be considered members of the church community if they meet either of these criteria:
- They make a declaration confirming that:
- They are aged 18 or older;
- AND they are baptised
- AND they are Orthodox Christian
- AND they attend worship habitually at our church
- AND their household contributes to the church in offerings of time and/or money and/or talent
- OR a declaration is made by a Membership Secretary appointed by the Community Board, and the person who is subject of the declaration gives consent to such a declaration being made, confirming that the person is
- aged 18 or older;
- AND baptised
- AND Orthodox Christian
- AND attends worship habitually at our church
- AND is part of household that contributes to the church in offerings of time and/or money and/or talent

Voting Rights
To have the right to vote in Community elections:
- Members must have made their annual dues to the Community at least six months before the date of the elections.
- Alternatively, members who have been part of the community for three consecutive years have the right to vote if they have paid their dues at least three months before the elections.
Exclusions from Membership
The following individuals cannot become members of the Community:
- Those who are not members of the Orthodox Church
- Those who belong to a Church or Community not subject to the jurisdiction of the Greek Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain
- Those who belong to another Christian confession
- Those who belong to any subversive or atheist organisation
Important Note
Membership in our Community implies active participation in faith and love in the Orthodox worship of the Greek Church, and in the organisation and administration of the Archdiocese and its local Communities. Members are expected to help the Archdiocese and its Holy Churches morally and materially, and to abide actively by the faith and holy traditions of Orthodoxy and by the decisions of the Clergy-Laity Conferences of the Greek Communities of the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain.
