On Sunday, 21st January 2024, His Grace Bishop Maximos of Melitene presided at Matins and celebrated the Divine Liturgy. The Very Reverend Protopresbyter Stephen Maxfield and Presbyter Panteleimon Maxfield served with His Grace.

We were honoured to have His Grace with us here at The Church of the 318 Holy Fathers in Shrewsbury to celebrate his name day! 21st January is the feast of Saint Maximos the Confessor: Many Years, Master!

The service was followed by light refreshments with the parishioners before heading to St Giles Hall to see the Varangian Guard Youth Club at their monthly meeting. Here, he was warmly greeted and introduced to teachers, helpers and, of course, the many excited children who were keen to receive a blessing.

We thank the Bishop for honouring us with his visit and look forward to him visiting again soon. It was a truly joyful occasion!
