Open Day at the Church of the 318 Holy Fathers
Welcome to our special Open Day as we celebrate the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea! Our church in Shrewsbury holds a unique dedication to the 318 God-bearing Fathers who gathered in 325 AD to affirm the foundational teachings of our Orthodox Christian faith.

- 9:30 AM – Matins & Divine Liturgy
- 12:30 PM – Buffet Lunch
- 1.30 PM – Talk: Who were the 318 Fathers? Fr Stephen Maxfield
- 1.45 to 4.30 PM – Guided tours of the church
- 4:30 PM – Paraklesis
- 6:30 PM – Patronal Vespers with His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas presiding
There will also be a talk at 3pm at the Icon Exhibition at St Julian’s Church: The Mystery of the Icon’s Beauty: Light becomes flesh that flesh might be filled with light, talk by Aidan Hart.
